Commonwealth Financial Network says Strategic Financial Solutions has joined its network of independent financial advisors from Principal Securities.

The Cedar Rapids, Iowa-based team includes advisors Larry Witzel, Bert McClintock, Brian Brandt, Jeff Haugse, Jordan Kuehner, Steven Bragg and David Spanier and has around $1.4 billion in client assets, according to Commonwealth.

Strategic Financial Solutions specializes in corporate retirement plan guidance, individual wealth management and comprehensive planning for clients nearing or already in retirement, according to Commonwealth. The company provides corporate offerings based on a consultative model and client education, Commonwealth adds.

“Commonwealth’s service-oriented culture feels in sync with ours. The breadth and depth of resources, from the technology enhancements and interface to the Commonwealth team being readily available to answer our questions, make this a good partnership. Together, this will enable us to unleash even greater productivity and efficiency as we look to the future,” Witzel said in a statement about the move.

The company is leveraging Commonwealth’s Brand Studio to create a new website and use Commonwealth’s technology solutions such its virtual transition support program, Commonwealth says. Brand Studio provides Commonwealth’s advisor network with strategic marketing support, according to its website, while the virtual transition support program aims to streamline client onboarding for advisors, as reported.
