SVB Private says it has added an experienced wealth management executive from BNY Mellon Wealth Management.

Tom Fickinger joins SVB as head of wealth advisory west, according to the firm. In this role, he will oversee private wealth advisor teams on the West Coast and the firm’s planning, lending, investing and banking services, SVB says.

Fickinger, who has more than three decades of experience in banking and wealth management, previously served as president of the Northern California region at BNY Mellon Wealth, according to SVB. In that role, he oversaw teams offering investment management, fiduciary services, wealth and estate planning and private banking services to individuals, families, family offices and endowments and foundations, SVB says.

Prior to BNY Mellon, Fickinger served in a variety of senior roles at Merrill Lynch Global Wealth Management, including as head of the firm's Pacific Northwest division, according to SVB.

Santa Clara, California-based SVB Private, which offers banking, wealth planning and trust services, is one of SVB Financial Group’s core businesses with Silicon Valley Bank, SVB Capital and SVB Securities, the company says.

SVB Financial had $191 billion in client assets as of February, according to Forbes.
