Ameriprise Financial says that it has added a practice from Edward Jones with $1.7 billion in client assets.

Jennifer Marcontell and her team have joined Ameriprise’s independent channel in Baytown, Texas, Ameriprise says.

Marcontell and her team operate as Marcontell Wealth Management, according to Ameriprise. Her team also includes associate financial advisors Allie Gwynn, Todd Patton and Erik Pettine; operations coordinator Ryan Heard; operations specialist Tenna Howard; client service specialists Alicia Bryan and Victoria Gonzalez; and marketing specialist Kenzie Lackey, according to Ameriprise.

Marcontell and her team work with approximately 450 families who have more than $4 million on average, according to Ameriprise.

“I’m confident that the transition to Ameriprise will help us strengthen those relationships even further, by enabling us to streamline our service model and harness the firm’s impressive range of integrated solutions,” Marcontell said in a statement.

She also cited career growth opportunities for her team.

“When I thought about the future of my practice, it became clear that I needed to find ways to increase our efficiency and provide development opportunities for my team members. At Ameriprise, I can empower my team members to take on greater roles in delivering exemplary service to our clients,” she said in a statement.

Marcontell has been in the industry since 1999 when she registered with Edward Jones, according to her BrokerCheck record.

Gwynn has been in the industry since 2018 when she registered with Edward Jones, according to her BrokerCheck record.

Patton has been in the industry since 2012 when he registered with Edward Jones, according to his BrokerCheck record.

Pettine has been in the industry since 2020, when he registered with Fidelity, and was also registered with Edward Jones, according to his BrokerCheck record.
