Cetera has brought on a former Charles Schwab executive to oversee the company’s advisor training, strategy, marketing, and education and consulting teams, Cetera says.

Andy Gill joins Cetera as its chief strategy and execution officer, according to a press release from the company.

He will be part of Cetera’s executive leadership team, reporting to Cetera president Adam Antoniades and interim CEO and chairman of the board Ben Brigeman, the company says.

Before joining Cetera, Gill spent 18 years at Schwab, holding executive roles in retail, product and platforms management, marketing, advice solutions and data as well as being a member of its executive council, according to the press release.

Cetera’s efforts to build out its business has attracted regulatory ire recently: in September, the SEC ordered the firm to pay $185,000 over allegations that it didn’t require hundreds of banks to disclose the fees Cetera shared with them for being on its solicitation network.
