A team managing nearly $160 million in client assets in Russellville, Ark., has joined Securities America, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Ladenburg Thalmann Financial Services, the broker-dealer said in a press release.

Nathan Knight and Jamie Taber of Knight Investments Group moved from Summit Brokerage Services, according to BrokerCheck.

“When we started searching for a partner to help us reach the next level of growth, we knew we needed strong technology going forward and practice management support, which are areas where we believe Securities America excels,” said Knight in the press release.

According to BrokerCheck, Knight has been registered since 2000 and has previously worked with broker-dealers such as Edward Jones and LPL Financial.

He began his career as an insurance agent and in addition to his securities licenses continues to hold licenses to market property, casualty, life and health insurance.

Taber, according to her BrokerCheck profile, has been registered since 1998 and also has a past stint with LPL.

She spent 19 years as a securities fund analyst and asset manager and worked in securities litigation law for 12 years, according to the press release.

Securities America serves close to 2,600 advisors. The firm recently has recruited teams from rivals such as NEXT Financial, the Woodbury Financial Services-acquired Questar Capital and from Cambridge Investment Research.
