LPL Financial has poached a three-advisor team managing nearly $300 million in client assets from Ameriprise Financial, the firm announced Thursday.

Advisors Mark Sudol, his brother Gary, and Jeffery Lavin of the Sudol Group have joined LPL’s independent broker-dealer and corporate RIA platforms, said the press release.

According to Brokercheck, Mark Sudol has nearly 36 years of experience in the industry and has worked with firms such as American Express Financial Advisors, Sagepoint Financial and National Planning Corporation.

The Sudol Group began in 2003 in Las Vegas, Nv., says the press release and seven years later it expanded to a second location in Gardenia, Ca. , where Lavin joined the practice.

Lavin, according to Brokercheck, started out in 1989 and had an 11-year stint with LPL between 1997 and 2009 prior to aligning with Sudol. Gary Sudol, has been registered since 2007.

“Most of our clients are transitioning to or already in retirement. Our focus is to work closely with them to maximize their wealth and manage risk,” Mark Sudol said in the release. “With access to LPL’s tools and support systems, including the comprehensive research resources they provide, our team has valuable insight and analysis that helps us create investment strategies that serve the needs of our clients.”

Just last month, LPL lured another team from Ameriprise that managed close to $225 million.

Amerirpise has also recently lost advisors to other rivals such as RBC Wealth Management and Hilltop Securities.

Ameriprise saw a net attrition of advisors in the second quarter.

LPL’s advisor ranks, too, shrank during that period on account of the big breakaway of Independent Financial Partners.
