Ameriprise continues poaching financial advisors from wirehouses, most recently adding a veteran broker in North Carolina from Wells Fargo, Ameriprise says.

Will Hadley of Charlotte, N.C., has joined the Ameriprise-affiliated practice Blue Cardinal Wealth Solutions, which was established in 2015 by Mitch Hodgkiss, according to a press release from Ameriprise.

Hadley is joined by client service associate Anna Cannon, the company says.

“I’m excited about the enhanced value we will provide to clients by being here at Ameriprise and Blue Cardinal. Prior to joining the team, I was a solo practitioner,” Hadley says in the press release. “My clients started to raise concerns about who would manage their money and be on the other end of the phone when they needed to talk, should I retire or should anything happen to me. The team approach and digital tools Ameriprise provides clients alleviates those concerns.”

Hadley began his financial services industry career in 1984 with Edward Jones and came to Wells Fargo in 2002, according to his BrokerCheck profile.

Ameriprise has lured several more Wells Fargo brokers in June and August, and last week it nabbed two brokers overseeing $175 million at Merrill Lynch and a Morgan Stanley advisor managing $89 million.

But since the end of June, Ameriprise has also shed advisors to LPL Financial, Raymond James, RBC Wealth Management and Hilltop Securities. Its advisor ranks at the end of the second quarter stood at 9,951, a decrease of 28 from the prior quarter.
