UBS Promotes Morgan Stanley, Merrill Lynch Alum to Branch Manager
UBS has appointed a woman as the branch manager of its Indianapolis office for the first time, according to news reports.
Kristin Popovic, who joined UBS in 2015 as assistant market head of the company’s Indianapolis office, has succeeded Jon Ramey, the Indianapolis Business Journal writes. She now oversees 73 employees managing $4.9 billion in assets from the office in Indianapolis as well as the one in Terre Haute, Ind., according to the publication. Prior to joining UBS, Popovic worked at Morgan Stanley from 2011 to 2015 and Merrill Lynch from 2007 to 2011, the Indianapolis Business Journal writes.
Ramey, who has moved to UBS’s Kenwood, Ohio, office, will continue in his role as market head in Indiana and Dayton, Ohio and will also take on responsibility for the Cincinnati market, according to the publication.
UBS took some steps over the past year to address the much-reported diversity gap in financial services. Last May, the company partnered with diversity career development and recruitment platform Jopwell, aimed at “black, Latino, Hispanic and Native American students and professionals.”
And UBS’s MOSAIC diversity network is tasked with having “our firm look more and more like the demographics of the country,” and ensuring that the firm hires more minority and women advisors, Kenneth Correa, metropolitan market head and co-chair of the network, told ThinkAdvisor in December.
