EP Wealth Advisors Acquires $500 Million Seattle Practice

By Alex Padalka May 10, 2019

EP Wealth continues acquiring independent wealth management practices, most recently adding a firm in Seattle, EP Wealth says.

Founded by Mitch Conlon and Stephen Dart, Conlon Dart Wealth Management is focused on “academically grounded investment management” as well as modern financial planning methods and oversees around $500 million for more than 300 clients, according to a press release from EP Wealth.

Conlon and Dart join EP Wealth as regional directors and partners while their colleagues Rick Bryan and Joe Boden join as senior vice presidents and partners, EP Wealth says.

“We consider EP Wealth to be an ideal fit and true extension of our core business philosophy,” Dart says in the press release. “We now have increased our financial planning and investment management capabilities, along with deeper educational resources to support our clients.”

The companies didn’t disclose the terms of the deal.

The deal marks EP Wealth’s fifth acquisition since financial services holding company Wealth Partners Capital Group took a minority stake in EP Wealth in July 2017, according to the press release.

Last year, EP Wealth acquired Donnelly Wealth Advisors in San Diego, Rampart Wealth Advisors in Greenwood Village, Colo., Caves & Associates in Manhattan Beach, Calif., and Millie Capital Management in Walnut Creek, Calif., EP Wealth says.

The company oversaw more than $4 billion as of the end of March, according to the press release.
